How to obtain JRE msi file for group policy deployment

In order to obtain the msi file required for group policy deployment, try the following:

1. Initiate JRE install.

2. At point of install, after the files have been extracted, do not continue the install, but browse to:

C:\Users\<currentuser>\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre_version_folder

or

%AppData%\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre_version_folder


3. You should find the msi file. Copy to shared data location.

4. Cancel the install. This will delete the extracted files.

5. Assign msi using Group policy.
